Frequently asked questions

The questions support gets most often. If something's missing, email support@grantmind.pro and we'll add it.

About the product

What does GrantMind actually do?

Four things in one workspace: finds grants matched to your mission, drafts Letters of Inquiry and full proposals, scores each draft against the funder's rubric before you submit, and tracks the whole pipeline with deadline reminders. The Welcome page has the longer version.

How many grants are in the database?

More than 75,000 active opportunities at any given time, across federal (Grants.gov, NIH RePORTER, SAM.gov), state portals, foundations (pulled from IRS Form 990 filings), and corporate giving. The pipeline ingests new sources continuously; expired grants are swept hourly.

Is the AI accurate? Can I trust the drafts?

The AI gives you a strong first draft, not a finished product. It's accurate at structure, compliance language, and funder-specific tone, but it can't know the specific story about your work that landed last Tuesday. Every draft is fully editable; treat it as a 70-80% starting point that you bring up to 100% with a human pass.

What about hallucinations?

The drafter only uses facts from your org profile and the funder's actual published materials. It won't invent budget numbers, made-up program names, or fake partner orgs. If you see a hallucination, please report it; we treat them as bugs and they're tracked in product analytics.

Pricing and billing

How much does it cost?

$249/month for nonprofits (direct plan), $399/month for agencies and freelance consultants (agency plan, up to 10 seats). Additional seats are $40 each on the agency plan. There's a 7-day free trial with card required, cancellable inside the trial without charge.

Do you offer nonprofit discounts?

The direct plan price already reflects nonprofit pricing. Discounts beyond that are available for organizations with annual budgets under $250k; email support@grantmind.pro with a brief description of your work and we'll respond with options.

Annual billing?

Yes, with a 15% discount. Switch from monthly to annual under Settings » Billing.

Data and privacy

Who owns the proposals I draft?

You do. The drafts and edits belong to your organization (or your client, on the agency plan). We don't train models on your data; full details in the privacy policy.

How is client data isolated on the agency plan?

Each client is a separate org record with database-level row-level security. A query that asks for “all grants in client X's pipeline” physically cannot return rows for client Y, even by accident or bug. It's the privacy story you can defend in a contract review.

Where is the data hosted?

US-based infrastructure. Postgres for application data, encrypted at rest and in transit. Backups daily, retained for 30 days. For specific compliance questions (HIPAA, SOC 2, FedRAMP), email support@grantmind.pro and we'll send what we have.

Workflow

Can I import past applications to seed the AI's voice?

Yes. Under Past applications in the direct portal (or per-client on the agency plan), upload 2 to 5 past proposals as PDFs or .docx. The drafter uses them to match your voice in future drafts. The more you upload, the closer the first draft sounds to your real writing.

Can multiple writers collaborate on a draft?

Yes, on the agency plan. Each section shows the last editor and timestamp; changes autosave. There's no real-time cursor like Google Docs (yet), so heads up if two people are editing the same section at the same moment.

What happens when I cancel?

Access continues until the end of your current billing period. Your data is preserved for 90 days post-cancellation in case you come back, then deleted. Request an export anytime under Settings » Account.

Getting help

How do I get support?

Email support@grantmind.pro. Response time is usually under 24 hours on weekdays, often faster. For urgent issues with an upcoming deadline, mention the deadline date in the subject line and we'll prioritize.

Is there a community or user group?

Not yet, but it's being scoped. Email if you want to be notified when there's one to join.

How do I report a bug or request a feature?

Same email. Bugs get a ticket; feature requests get logged in the public-facing roadmap if they're a fit. We read every message.
